IMPORTANT UPDATE

The Office for National Statistics have released data on “Death registrations and occurrences by local authority and health board”

By our calculations, a total of 432 people in Gloucestershire have died with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certification up to 1st May 2020. This is 15% of the total 2,885 people who have died in the county this year. 211 people have died with Covid19 in hospitals in Gloucestershire, 191 in care homes, 19 at home, 6 in hospices, 3 in other communal establishments, and 2 elsewhere.

THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIED WITH COVID-19 IN THE SIX LOCAL AUTHORITY DISTRICTS OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE

The data is supplied for each local authority in Gloucestershire:

  • In Stroud district: 71 people have died with Covid19 – 13.3% of the 534 people to die in the district this year. 45 people died in hospital, 22 in care homes, 5 at home, and 1 in an “other communal esablishment”
  • In Tewkesbury district, 83 people have died with Covid19 – 19.3% of the 430 people who have died in the district this year.
  • In Cheltenham borough, 103 people have died with Covid19 – 19% of the 543 people who have died in the district this year
  • In Gloucester city, 94 people have died with Covid19 – 17.0% of the 554 people who have died in the city this year.
  • In Cotswold district, 46 people have died with Covid19 – 10.3% of the 445 people who have died in the district this year
  • In the Forest of Dean, 35 people have died with Covid19 – 9.2% of the 379 people who have died in the district this year
