Miss School’s suggestions for non-curricular activities
There’s a lot of ‘productivity porn’ out there at the moment, don’t let it make you feel bad. While you should absolutely not allow yourself to wallow in a pile of duvet while the kids sit on endless screens, this is not the time to beat yourself up about not being able to recreate the Eiffel Tower out of biscuits.
Below is a list of links to a world of fun things to do with the kids.
- Gloucestershire’s Play Rangers have gone virtual, and update their page with lovely activities daily. I especially like that they don’t expect you to have a ton of resources at home.
- A GIANT and fabulous list of self-explanatory isolation activities.
- The page Isolation Activities for Kids is really sweet and low key and bursting with nice activities, my favourite from today being indoor tennis (paper plate rackets and a balloon)
- This page, Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas, is a flood of Instagram worthy projects. Take it with a pinch of salt as some of the things suggested require specialist materials or skills. However, it’s a good page to browse for ideas.
